Application Requirements

- Eligibility includes any early care and education program center-based (to include multi-site programs), family child care home, and early head start/head start program (to include grantees with multiple site locations) licensed/registered in the state of Florida.
- The application packet includes the following:
a.  Application
b.  Affidavit signed by the program director
c.  Training certificates or sign-in logs signed by the Director AND a copy of the training presentation or curriculum used to meet the training requirement (see below)
d.  Benchmark Menus for consideration, marked with each item the site wishes to receive credit for (see below)
e.  Copies of policies or photographs as evidence of each item selected
Applications must be submitted by e-mail and/or mailed.

Training Requirements

For ECE programs applying for recognition, at least 60% of current program staff must participate in and complete at least one training related to any of the Benchmark Menus (see below). Acceptable documentation for satisfying the training requirement include certificates of completion or sign-in logs for trainings signed by the Director and a copy of the training presentation or curriculum used. Trainings completed within two years of the application date will be accepted. For examples of trainings that meet the requirement, click here
Levels of Recognition:
  • Bronze Level - 50+ points in 1-2 menus
  • Silver Level - 50+ points in 3-4 menus
  • Gold Level - 50 points in all 5 menus
